CZ114 is a high tensile brass that is significantly stronger than the conventional free-machining brasses, equalling the strength of many steels whilst still retaining the benefits of copper alloys. The addition of manganese and tin in the material helps to greatly improve corrosion resistance, whilst sufficient lead is present for the machinability to be good.

BRASS CZ112
This copper zinc alloy otherwise know as navel brass, employs tin in its composition in order to dramatically improve the material’s resistance to corrosion and dezincification, which is particularly noticeable in salt water and other aggressive environments.

ALUMINIUM 2011

ALUMINIUM 5083
Aluminium 5083 is renown for its outstanding performance in intense environments. It is highly resistant to corrosion in both seawater and industrial chemical environments.
5083 has the highest strength of the non-heat treatable alloys but it is not recommended for use over 65°C

ALUMINIUM 6082
6082 is a medium strength alloy with excellent corrosion resistance. In plate form, 6082 is the most commonly used alloy for machining. It also has the highest strength of any alloy in the 6000 series. This strength has meant that 6082 has replaced the older 6061 in many applications.
In the T6 and T651 temper, 6082 machines very well producing tight coils of swarf when chip breakers are used.

BRONZE CA104

BRONZE PB1/ CUSN12
Phosphor bronze is an alloy of tin and copper to which phosphorus has been added during the casting process. It is a single phase alloy suitable for cold working.
The benefits of PB1 include its good resistance to corrosion, (approaching that of aluminium bronzes) and excellent mechanical and high fatigue strength.

COPPER C101
Besides acting as a base for all brasses and bronzes, copper is an engineering material in its own right. C101 harnesses high electrical and thermal conductivity and along with having a high ductility and impact strength, it can be a very useful material.
A restriction of C101 is poor weldability and as a result welding is not recommended.

Grade 303 Stainless steel represents superior machinability over all other austenitic stainless steels due to the addition of sulphur in the material.

Grade 304 is the most versatile and widely used Stainless steel. It is available in a wider range of products, forms and finishes than any other.

Cast Iron G250
G250 offers a good combination of strength and wear resistance, while still possessing good machinability and an excellent surface finish. Due to the graphite structure in G250, noise and vibration damping along with thermal conductivity are excellent in this grade.

ALUMINIUM 6262
Aluminium 6262 is a heat treatable alloy with very good corrosion resistance and strength. Additions of bismuth in the material mean that it has outstanding machinability and surface finish.
6262 can be used in place of 2011 when a higher resistance to corrosion and better anodising response in needed.

BRONZE AB2
AB2 is a very strong nickel aluminium bronze alloy. Its general properties are that it has good castability, high strength and has an outstanding corrosion resistance due to a tough oxide film. Aluminium bronze can also be heat treated to further increase its seawater corrosion properties and thus it is particularly useful for seawater service. Shock and wear resistance is also excellent and it is also easy to machine.
AB2 is weldable and also has very good levels of thermal and electrical conductivity. Additionally AB2 retains its strength and ductility at low temperatures.

BRONZE PB102
This corrosion resistant, high strength Phosphor Bronze is a much favoured material for engineering components subject to friction.
It is also ideal as a contact material for fasteners & masonry fixings.
In its strip form it has been used as one of the main non ferrous spring, contact and connector pin materials.

The CW602N / CZ132 dezincification resistant brass (DZR Brass) is essentially a leaded arsenical brass with a duplex structure. As its name suggests it was originally developed to provide good resistance to dezincification type corrosion which is experienced by normal hot working brasses.
As well as the improved dezincification / corrosion resistance the CW602N / CZ132 also offers good strength levels, is readily machined and easily hot forged. Its primary usage over the years has been for water fittings that are produced by hot stamping and machining.
